Intro to UI/UX Design
💡 What makes a good User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX)
User Interface (UI)
Staring at a blank canvas can be daunting sight. Just like staring at a blank word doc and knowing you have a 5000 word essay to write.
Getting those first words on paper is critical. So lets take some time and learn how we can go about designing our application.
Look into Figma
If you are not familiar with Figma is where a majority of designers go to design software applications, landing pages, components etc.
These designs are critical in app development. When you aren’t playing both roles, typically a designers does all the UI work and then the developer can visualize the application and simply go and build it.
It is extremely important that your designs match exactly how your application will look, this will make development a very smooth process.
Lets get a very basic knowledge base of figma and how it works. Don’t worry, we aren’t going to be doing much design work ourselves.
Please watch the below video
Now that you understand the basics of figma, I want to walk you through how we can go about selecting our designs and implementing them in our bubble application or whatever tech stack you are using. We want to do this with as little work as possible. Let me show you how I would go about this.
This is mainly for those not hiring a designer
So how I would go about getting designs done…
Revamped UX Walkthrough
I wanted to take some time to go over the entire UX/UI of our software Revamped. Its important to understand what a good user experience looks like. In this video I walk you through the entire application and our thought process building and designing it from start to finish.
Please watch all the way through! UX may be the most important aspect of your entire app.
Features List Build
Build out your entire feature list.
This should include everything that will be included in your application. Think about it like you are creating a Scope of Work (SOW) for a client, but it is for yourself.
This is important to complete and finalize today because tomorrow we are diving straight into designing our application.
First I wanted to show you just how quickly and easily you can build your features list.
